It’s Friday, Friday
Gettin’ down on Friday
Everybody’s lookin’ forward to the weekend
Man, blast from the past. I just re-watched that Rebecca Black music video and remembered why I made fun of that song so much. Ugh.
So far, 2015 has been pretty great.
Work is crazy busy, as per usual this time of year. I’m back at it with Lara (FitBestie) at the gym, and after a week of hating life thanks to squats ripping apart my leg muscles, I’m getting back in to a routine where I don’t have to curse the universe when I try to sit down on the toilet.
I’ve had a constant flow of recipe ideas that are coming to life quicker than normal, thanks to the amazing studio photography equipment Mr. Crumby bought me for Christmas.
Screw you, Natural Light.
Aaaaaaaand OUR BIG BELATED HONEYMOON VACATION IS BOOKED!!! England, France, and Italy won’t know what hit them next month! I can’t wait to chow down on some amazing food, soak up some ancient history, and throw back some incredible wines and beers. PLUS Harry Potter WB Studio Tour!!!
DEAD. Ugh, trip of a lifetime. Valentine’s Day in Rome, Carnevale in Venice, catching up with my sweet sister-in-law in London, an entire day drinking wine with Hubby in Tuscany, roaming aimlessly around Paris with a croissant in my hand…I’m literally at a point where I’m counting the hours! If you have any recommendations on places to eat or things to see in any of those cities, please feel free to leave them in the comments! We are building our (very loose) itinerary over the next couple weeks, and I’d love to know about the best of the best!
I’ve also been able to spend some quality time with almost all of my besties, which every girl needs now and again.
Gretchen (PrincessBestie) and I always have these good intentions of leaving the house early to start our adventures. Especially when we go to Disney…since that’s our usual adventure destination.
We have a slight Mouse problem. We’ve accepted it.
#takemymoneyMickey. Expect to see me use that hashtag this year. A lot.
So far, none of our adventures have taken us to the happiest place on earth. They instead have included a trip to Winter Park for some cheesecake, cupcakes, and cookie butter, and a trip to Altamonte Springs (the shadiest part of it, I’m convinced) for some Painting with a Twist action, Harry Potter Style!
I’m not a painter, nor an artist of any conventional sort. I doodle, that’s about it.
I used to draw Mickey Mouse with a stick in the dirt road back when I was a kid. I used to be talented.
In spite of not really screaming This Is Hogwarts Castle, Dumbass to me, I still feel like my painting turned out pretty good! The people at PwaT guide you through each layer of paint step-by-step, which really makes it hard to screw it up, and I love how even though we were following an instructor, everyone ended up their own unique version of the piece. Plus, there’s wine and 90’s music, and that just amps up the fun a few dozen decibels. I cannot wait to go back and do another one! Hooray for more expensive hobbies!
And yes. Yes. I am aware that there’s a (not so) hidden penis in the painting. There were lots of penises. I simply did the best I could to make mine look like a fire hydrant.
Sooooo this week’s Fabulous Friday is dotted with some wonderful party foods, perfect for the upcoming SuperBowl (and the games leading up to it)!
Soy Caramel Chicken? Whut. Sign me up!
All hail these Portobello Mushrooms Stuffed with Italian Sausage!
These Black & White Donuts are so darn cute and I’ll take 2 dozen, please.
I am absolutely bonkers over this Slow Cooker Short Rib Sauce with Bucatini. OMG my favorite meat in one of my favorite dishes?! Dead.
I can see these 45 Cal Mini Chocolate Chip Muffins making an appearance in my kitchen this month. Still going strong in the moderation department!
You put the lime in the coconut…in these Key Lime Mexican Wedding Cookies! YUM.
All the yeses go to these Pineapple Tamarind Beef Kabobs. LOVE everything on those.
Please with this Peanut Butter Banana Coffee Shake. Get in my belly.
OMG, this Maple and Coffee Glazed Bacon sounds like it could be its own food group.
I can totally get down with this Cauliflower Mac ‘N Cheese. Cheddar and Bacon make everything better.
In love with these Double Chocolate Chip Cookies…makes just enough for two!
These Easy Pretzel Buns would make for such amazing sliders!
Homemade Tagliatelle with Black Garlic Eggplant Sauce. Marry me.
Fueling my Speculoos obsession…enter this Cookie Butter Cheesecake. Ugh, why must this deliciousness exist?!??
Hey, Barbecue Pineapple, Jalapeño and Feta Pizza…come to me, baby.
Well, friends, that’s it for this installment of my Fabulous Friday! The internet is full of food to love, and this is just a small sampling of things on my “to try” list. Take me to your recipes! Oh my goodness your honeymoon vacation sounds amazing! London is probably my favorite city ever (outside of the US). I did a study abroad there a few years ago. You HAVE to get a cookie from Ben’s Cookies in Covent Garden. They are to die for. So warm and gooey. Happy Friday!
