The easiest, most fun way to eat brownies! This Brownie Batter Dip is loaded with mini chocolate chips and M&Ms – any color will do, but bonus points if they’re repping your favorite team!
Who loves brownies?!? You know I’m totally raising my hand, right?
I don’t think I’ve ever met a soul who didn’t like a big fat square of chocolatey goodness.
Now, how do you feel about turning that brownie into something in which you could dip other treats in?
Do you remember making box brownies when you were a kid? I know I’m not the only one who loved licking the bowl clean after the pan was safe in the oven – getting that sticky, salty chocolate batter all over the spoon, my fingers, my face. Not stopping until there was practically nothing left to wash out of the bowl.
This brownie batter dip is pretty much that right there, minus the mess.

We are firmly planted in the latter half of the year down here in Florida.
Fall lovebugs have come and gone (good riddance,) store displays make it hard to tell if it’s Halloween or Christmas, we’ve got hurricane threats every other week (one heading this way as I type, actually,) and everyone I know in a fantasy league is already acting like Kevin or Ruxin (from The League.)
With all that going on, all I want out of life is an endless glass of wine with no sulfites, a comfy hammock in my (fictionally) cool and shady backyard, puppy cuddles, a good book or two, and for my hubby to cook up amazing, calorie-free dinners every night.
Sadly, that’s not what I’m getting. What do I have? Dozens of bottles of water, plywood nailed to all of my windows, sandbags in front of my doors, candles & flashlights, and plenty of canned tuna and baked beans.
That’s right, folks – The Crumby House is prepped for Hurricane Matthew.
The last big hurricane we had come through Florida was actually 4 of them – back in 2004 when Charley, Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne tag-teamed each other and ripped across the state. I was only 20, in college, and still part-time at work. We went through a lot of the same steps Mr. Crumby and I took today, but back then it was all kind of fun and exciting.
Now, as an adult, I actually worry about ripped shingles, downed trees, and flooded streets. I’ve been watching the weather updates like a crazy person.
As the storm passes over Cuba, I’m scrambling to get as much blogging stuff done as I can before out power very likely goes out Thursday or Friday. I suppose it’s one of the pitfalls of living here – constantly being at the mercy of the ocean we’re surrounded by.
It’s a good thing my Jags are on a bye week. At least the storm won’t mess with their mojo. Or – maybe they need their mojo messed with?
I think what they need is an inspirational Football Veggie Tray, a giant batch of this dip (and maybe some Chocolate Chip Dip – for balance!), a bowl of pretzels, and some milk to wash it all down with. A little throwback to the good old days…something I could use right now, myself.
