Ingredients
¾cupheavy whipping cream
¾cupred wine
¼cupgolden syrup or light corn syrup
¼cupbrown sugar
¼cupcocoa powder
¼teaspoonsea salt
6ounceschopped chocolatedivided
2Tablespoonsunsalted butter
1teaspoonvanilla extract
Instructions
In a heavy saucepan, bring cream, wine, syrup, sugar, cocoa, salt, and half the chocolate to a boil over medium heat. Reduce to simmer and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and stir in remaining chocolate, butter and vanilla; stir until smooth. Cool the sauce for 20-30 minutes to warm before serving, allowing it to thicken.
Sauce keeps in fridge for 1-2 weeks. Reheat 10-15 seconds before serving so that it is thick but still pourable.
